Volunteers are the lifeline of our organization! If you are interested in helping as little as one hour a month, we would love to hear from you.
Our most pressing need is for driving the residents to appointments. Many residents are involved in job training or have court ordered meetings with probation officers, CPS, or other agencies. Many of these offices are located in Burnet or Llano.
Please email admin@opendoorrecovery.net if you can volunteer in any capacity or if you would like more information. You can also call the office at 830-693-9292.
This is a year of growth for Open Door. We have adopted two new programs aimed at matching mentors and community involvment to help us empower our women.
Through our “Growing New Lives”gardening program, we are looking to both plant and maintain a vegatable and herb garden. We believe gardening can serve as a learning tool for our residents and as a source of healthy food.
We are looking for community members to serve as mentors in this project. We are also seeking volunteers that just want to get in the dirt with us and help begin something as productive as it is figurative. Whatever your level of skill,we would love you to join us in building this program in 2017.
